About Marin County Realtor Lydia Treadway
Lydia
wasn’t always a Marin county Realtor. She loves her work
and is very happy with it. “Real Estate has been very very good
to me!” And
she meets some nice people who do become friends as well as continuing
clients. What makes her a success in this profession? To answer this
we must go back in time and look at the influences that make Lydia
unique, a one-of-a kind person.
Lydia Found My Perfect Home |
I had a list of requirements, very specific, that
I presented to Lydia. In two days she called with literally the
perfect property. Someone else's offer had been accepted before
I could bid on it. However, Lydia then went on to pepper the neighborhood
with flyers and contacted the owners to see if anyone else might
be interested in selling. She turned up two options, one of which
I now own. I feel that Lydia 'solicited' the perfect home for me.
If not for her very pro-active effort, I would not be where I am
today. It was the only time a realtor had gone beyond looking at
the MLS book or computer screen for me.

She comes from Dubrovnik, Croatia, a beautiful part of the world on
the Adriatic Sea across from Italy. It is an ancient city that has
had influence from the Romans, Venice, Napoleon, and many cross currents
of history. This left a mix of cultures and languages. In her early
adult years she moved to Paris, then Cape Cod, San Francisco, Bahrain,
London, Nashville, and then Marin County. These places brought her
many interesting experiences including antiquing, interior decoration,
and the restoration of an old Victorian home in South Kensington. Nashville
gave her the enjoyment of country music and horses. Art continued to
be her passion since childhood and she continued to paint in all these
places. Lydia knows a lot about architecture and building. Her father
was a master mason and contractor. She learned about quality workmanship
very early in life and now can do many building projects herself. Recently
she did the tile in our bathrooms and a stone floor in our family room.
Lydia’s education includes a Master of Fine Arts degree from
the San Francisco Art Institute. She is a painter and owned an Art
Gallery in San Anselmo. She was founder and Chairman of the San Anselmo
Art Commission. Lydia was responsible for establishing an Annual Student
Art Festival for all the children in Ross Valley. We helped raise scholarship
funds for High School graduates in the arts and all children who entered
the Festival got prizes and recognition. After this work, Lydia served
on the Board of Directors for San Domenico private school. She is Vice
President for the Marin Rose Society and grows beautiful roses for
show. Gardening is an artistic endeavor and brings beauty inside the
home with cut flowers and arrangements. We urge you to join the Marin
Art and Garden Center and the Marin Rose Society for lots of fun and
a wonderful education on roses. Lydia is a Consulting Rosarian for
the American Rose Society and is happy to answer your questions on
rose culture. Give her a call or email. This is a free service!
Lydia
is a mother with two sons, and her husband has his three children.
Raising five children under one roof as a blended family has been a
challenge! We are so glad to see the kids prosper now as independent
successful adults. They attended universities from Oregon to Yale,
St. Mary’s to UC Berkeley, and the US Naval Academy. They live
all over the US from coast to coast and one son still has tours in
Iraq and the Middle East with the military.
Lydia’s husband, Frank, is very involved in assisting her Real
Estate work. He is a “retired” child psychologist who does
the work in the office, keeps the emails flowing and the web site current.
This is a team effort and you may have occasion to communicate with
Frank. We usually can get the support and information you need to move
ahead on your deal quickly because we work together and can respond
right away.
Frank and Lydia team together in the Rose and vegetable garden too!
They both enjoy good cooking and wine tasting shared with friends.
Trout fishing is another passion and we take trips to different lakes
and streams in the mountains of California, Oregon and Nevada.
This is a very brief sketch of Lydia’s background. We have some
photos to show you who we are. Give us a call and let’s meet
and work together. We enjoy helping people find a home or sell and
discover their own new adventures!
