Schools and Education in Marin County

The school directory at www.marinschools.org has up-to- date information on Private and Public schools in Marin with links to each school. Marin County children are educated in 19 public school districts with enrollments ranging from 12 students to 7,000 students. Fifteen of the school districts are Elementary (K - 8); two are Unified districts (K - 12); and two are High School districts (Grades 9 - 12). There are Extension classes held in each of the Adult High School District programs in the County. You can learn Italian, Computers, tennis and many other subjects in their day and evening classes. http://www.marinschools.org/

Domincan CollegeWe also have the College of Marin with two campuses: the main campus in Kentfield and a north Marin college, Indian Valley, in Novato. Many students attend College of Marin and then transfer to UC Berkeley and other Universities in their Junior year. The Community College program includes an Emeritus College for adult extended education. There is a full range of offerings from Art, Music, Dance, Languages, and Philosophy. You will certainly find the class you always wanted to explore but did not have time to do this when in University. Check out the Distance Learning programs too on the web site www.marin.cc.ca.us/.

Dominican University in San Rafael is a private institution of higher education with an excellent undergraduate curriculum and outstanding graduate degree programs as well. It has a beautiful campus in San Rafael.

Private and public school information can be obtained from the Cal Land Title web site at www.callandtitle.com Click on "About Marin" at the top of this site and you will be directed to the location, address, and phone number for each school by Town.
